Hi there! 👋

Handy Pranata's Headshot
I'm Handy, born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, and now based in the beautiful Southern California 🌞. I'm a recent UC Berkeley graduate currently building my career in Technical Accounting and IPO Readiness Advisory.

I'm also a musician, a wildlife photographer, mentor for community college students, and founder of a pro-bono consulting firm serving Bay Area NPOs and small businesses.

My journey has never been about choosing one path, but rather about learning from each one of them. Every chapter has shaped how I see connection, growth, and purpose.

Now feel free to explore, and please do reach out if you see anything that resonates with you! 😊

What I Do  ✏️

Technical Accounting & IPO Readiness

I help companies navigate complex financial reporting challenges. I advise clients on matters involving ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 Lease Classification, stock-based compensation, and complex debt and equity instruments. I also assist with audit preparation, S-1 readiness, and process documentation, bringing financial clarity and structure to growing organizations.

Transfer Admissions Mentorship

I mentor international and community college students navigating the transfer process to top universities, drawing from my own experience transferring from De Anza College to UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business with offers from Cornell, NYU, Vanderbilt, and UCLA. My guidance focuses on application strategy and crafting your own story that highlights your own achievements, goals, and personal development.

Pro-Bono Consulting Group

I founded Tombo Consulting Group, a student-led pro-bono consulting group pairing community college talent with real businesses. Our teams delivered marketing and business strategy solutions for small businesses, and designed + executed fundraising campaigns for nonprofit organizations. We provide guidance to small businesses and nonprofits, helping them grow while giving students a pathway to apply their skills beyond the classroom.

Wildlife Photography

I explore the intersection of nature and storytelling through wildlife photography. My work captures the raw beauty of animals across Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, with a focus on conservation awareness and emotional connection. Each photo reflects patience, presence, and respect to the natural world.

My "North Star" 🌟

I've always been drawn to the idea and possibility of trying and doing everything. To explore every field, every craft, every idea that sparks curiosity.

I want to build startups, write books, capture wildlife through my camera lens, obtain my CPA and CFA designations, animate movies, and help people grow. I want to understand how things work. In art, in business, and in human connection.

To me, it's not about choosing one perfect career. But rather, it's about building a life full of stories -- of things I've made, people I've helped, and ideas I've dared to explore.

If I can spend my life creating, learning, and leaving something meaningful behind, then that, to me, is a life well-lived.
